College of Agricultural Engineering, Raichur

The College of Agricultural Engineering, Raichur is part of the Raichur campus, which has a long history of agricultural research and education in Karnataka. The campus began with an Agricultural Research Station established in 1932 by the Nizam's Government of Hyderabad for dry land farming research. In 1969, the Agricultural Engineering Institute (AEI) was added to the campus to offer a diploma course in Agricultural Engineering. In 1987, this institute was upgraded to the College of Agricultural Engineering, with the diploma program elevated to a B.Tech degree. The Raichur campus became a component campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, after that university's establishment in 1986. Over the years, the campus expanded its academic offerings, including postgraduate programs across multiple departments, and hosts a Krishi Vigyana Kendra funded by ICAR. The College of Agricultural Engineering remains a significant part of this multi-disciplinary agricultural education hub in Northern Karnataka.
