NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH HAJIPUR

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hajipur (NIPER Hajipur) is a public pharmaceutical education and research university located in Hajipur, Bihar, India. Established in 2007, it is one of the seven NIPERs under India's Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and it holds Institute of National Importance status. The institution began functioning in November 2007, inaugurated by former union Minister Sri Ram Vilas Paswan and Director Dr. Pradeep Das of RMRIMS-Patna, which mentored the institute until October 2018. Prof. Ruckmani Kandasamy has served as Director since June 2025, with the institute currently having 14 faculty members and 23 non-teaching staff. NIPER Hajipur comprises departments including Pharmacology and Toxicology, Biotechnology, and Pharmacy Practice, each conducting research in areas such as cancer biology, drug resistance, nanoparticle applications, and clinical studies related to visceral leishmaniasis and HIV co-infection. Admissions to its M.S.(Pharm)/M.Pharm. and PhD programs occur annually through national-level entrance examinations, requiring qualification in GATE or GPAT, with doctoral candidates undergoing personal interviews. The MS program spans two years across four semesters, and PhD applicants with individual fellowships may apply directly.
